Showing Requirements
If you are looking to show at one of our in-house schooling shows this year, you are required to have proper riding boots with chaps or tall boots. Proper helmet. Proper beige riding breeches. Show jacket with collar shirt under or tidy, fitted solid black or navy blue pullover with collar shirt underneath. No hoodies, no baggy clothing.
If you are looking to show outside of Westcott Equestrian, we require that you have the following.
Proper Riding Attire
Solid colour riding helmet. Beige breeches. Black tall boots. Navy blue, black or grey show coat with white collar shirt. Black riding gloves. Hairnet.
Proper Tack and Equipment
Saddle (if not owned; borrowed). White saddle pad, fitted if hunter. Plain brown hunter or jumper bridle. Leather girth. Silver stirrups if showing hunter. Lunge line. Buckets. Tack trunk.
Riding Level
Before we allow riders to competed at an off property horse show, they must show the ability to have great control of their horse at their current level and be well seated in the tack. Show goers must be able complete one level above what they would show at EG: if you want to show at the 2’3 level, you must be able to complete 2’6 requirements at home with ease.
If you do not own a horse with us, we require that you commit to a 3 day lease in order for you to compete at outside shows. This allows the coaches to ensure that the rider has enough training to go and compete successfully. This is a great opportunity to be able to show the same horse all year yet not have to fully commit to owning a horse with all the extra expenses.
